An interesting cooperation between the hotel chain Accor and the Oneworld airline Qatar Airways was announced in 2022. You can earn Avios with every hotel stay, and Accor points on flights with Qatar Airways.
Another aspect is much more interesting: If you have Diamond or Platinum status at Accor ALL, you can get the Gold status in the Qatar Privilege Club with just one flight. It corresponds to Oneworld Sapphire status and comes with numerous advantages such as lounge access, better seats, more baggage allowance, etc. You can also secure lower level matches.
There is a certain limit on the maximum possible status matches for the promotion. According to the terms & conditions, Qatar will match a maximum of 3,100 gold this year.
Whether / when this limit has already been reached is not communicated anywhere. But since the campaign was restarted roughly a week ago, it should still look pretty good at the moment.
Table of Contents
Possible Matches
The following tiers will be matched as part of the promotion:
- For Accor status members:
ALL Diamond ⇾ Privilege Club Platinum (Oneworld Emerald)1- ALL Diamond ⇾ Privilege Club Gold (Oneworld Sapphire)1
- ALL Platinum ⇾ Privilege Club Gold (Oneworld Sapphire)1
- ALL Gold ⇾ Privilege Club Silver (Oneworld Ruby)1
- For Qatar status members:
- Privilege Club Gold → ALL Silver2
- Privilege Club Platinum → ALL Gold2
1 – Status is only granted once at least one flight has been completed with Qatar Airways
2 – The status is only granted if at least one overnight stay outside the home country has been completed with Accor
It is noticeable that Accor status customers have a clear advantage here. While Oneworld status carries significant benefits, the benefits of Accor Gold status are pretty average. However, the hurdle to fly once with Qatar is also significantly higher than a stay in a hotel.

Terms & Conditions
As with any Qatar promotion, there are a number of restrictions. You can read the full conditions here. Here are some of them:
- You can only link your accounts if the first and last name match
- Each Accor account can only be linked to one frequent flyer program. A change is possible just once every 12 months
- In 2026, the following limits apply:
- Accor gives out silver status a maximum of 6,600 times
- Accor gives out gold status a maximum of 3,100 times
- Qatar gives out a maximum of 6,600 Silver statuses
- Qatar gives out a maximum of 3,100 Gold statuses
- There is no official counter on how many status matches have already been done and how many are still possible.
- The Status Match Challenge is only possible once per account
Editor’s Note: This is a deeply weird status match, where you basically have to apply and hope that your status will get bumped up after your first night or flight. Since I am ALL Platinum and set for a Qatar Airways flight in February, I linked my accounts today and simply hope it works out. If it does – it’s a tremendously easy way on getting Oneworld Sapphire. There is little downside for Accor status holders to link the accounts and see what happens.
How It Works
Below is a brief description of how to get the benefits:
1. Link Accounts
To receive the benefits, you must link the Accor account to your Qatar Privilege Club user account once. This works either via the Qatar or Accor website. I tried it on Accor’s website as a test:

There you have to log in with your Qatar account. As soon as the accounts are successfully linked, a corresponding message appears:

2. Complete the Challenge
As mentioned at the beginning, an existing status is unfortunately not enough to get the benefits of a status upgrade. You either have to:
- For the match, Accor → Qatar Airways:
- take any flight with Qatar Airways
- For the match, Qatar Airways ⇾ Accor:
- stay in an Accor hotel outside your home country
Unfortunately, the status upgrade that you are entitled to is not displayed anywhere in the account. So you have to trust that Qatar will stick to its own terms.
3. Use Status Benefits
If you have completed a flight/stay and the aforementioned limits have not yet been exhausted, you will be able to enjoy the corresponding status benefits for at least 12 months. The following applies:
- Those who have received a status with Qatar Airways can enjoy the benefits for 12 months.
- Accor status obtained in this way is valid until the end of the current calendar year + a further 12 months.
4. Earn Extra Points
The promotion not only gives status benefits but also additional points/miles according to the following scheme:
- For stays at Accor:
- 2 Avios per 10 Euro booking value with Adagio Access
- 4 Avios per 10 Euro booking value at Adagio
- 5 Avios per 10 Euro booking value at Ibis, Ibis Styles & Mama Shelter
- 10 Avios per 10 Euro booking value at all other chains
- For flights with Qatar Airways:
- 1 Accor point per US$2 (~€2) booking value (possibly excl. taxes & fees)

i tried these no quota left
Is there any restriction to what flight with Qatar i must take? does a fifth freedom or codeshare flight eligible?
Hello. I’ve got a question. If I get it right, I have to take at least one flight after I match my Accor status to obtain the status with Qatar? The flight I took with Qatar last year doesn’t count? Thanks.
